from what i have heard.. might wanna try a markbass sooner or later... but how about home practice amps guys... just small enough that i can jam at home or maybe used for garage practice.. well there's only 3 of us... so i'll just need a small amp for me to cut through.
how much amp wattage do i need?

I don't think you need anything over 60 watts. I've played with a 30 watt combo in my power trio for a while. The thirty is powerful enough, but just barely. I've jammed with 60 watt combos with slightly larger groups and it works fine.

OK, I'm gonna open a whole new can of worms: Whatdy'all think of a G-K 550 Fusion(tube/solid hybrid) with a G-K 4-12" NEO cab? I'm thinkin' seriously of getting one. I'll mostly be using my P, but likely will be playing my A. Std. Jazz thru it too on occasion. It's not gonna sound like an SVT, but Can I get a nice warm tone out of it and still have enough "punch"?

30watts is enough for a trio? i guess i don't really have a band with lots of members and doesn't really require loud distortions.. the most is 4.. one keyboard player (still looking for one), one drummer, a guitarist and bass..

any good practice amps?

im looking onto a Laney RB2 or maybe Orange Crush B35... can't decide which is which..

for price range i would say.. around $300? our stuff costs a bit more...
back then i was thinkin of going for a line studio110, 75 watts and peavey max112, but considering the price i would rather go for a line 6 coz the wattage is 75 compared to peavey 40watts but heavier than a studio110, then i found smaller amps for practice at home maybe orange crush or a laney rb2.. or good enough for a garage practice..

for stage amps... im liking the markbass's tone... probably i'd go for one, back then i wanted GK's backline so as to be as close to flea's tone.. but errr..

I'm not a huge fan of line 6. All of their amps are modeling amps, so the source of the tone is entirly digital. While I have nothing against digital sound processing, I don't think they do a terribly good job.

Also, the GK backlines don't really sound like their high end amps. They're way more muddy and have way less capacity for pushing the mids.

I've heard of ampegs and though i'd like them on a fender p bass.. i like the way they'd give warmth and bottom to the p bass.. but i guess i'd be using more of the J's both rounds and flats for strings..

how does the GK RBs sound to you anu?

i dropped by the guitar shop the other day...
tried Fender Rumble, Ibanez amps, Hartke and Peavey...

seems like Peavey Max sounds good to me... any comment about them?

the one thing i hate is they're heavy

I run an american jazz,a mex. precision or a rick through a Markbass mini 1-15 ,300 watts. Then i add the 2-10 Mark ext. cab that gives out 500 watts together.I also own aFENDER 400 -Pro with 1-15 ext. cab but i find the fender gear heavy and cumbersome.Very happy with both rigs though.
