I am a fan of this Serie, I have owned two models a few years ago and now that I want to buy the Ash body version I have been told that fender no longer is building the deluxe serie...

Check the PRODUCTS tab of this site and see if one that you want is still being manufactured.

The product line obviously has been trimmed some. Right now the PRODUCTS tab shows a LEFT HAND American Deluxe Jazz but not a RIGHT HAND one. That is peculiar. I'm guessing we are about to see a new model or new specs.

Probably the ones with ash bodies were Special Runs and as such were limited. Both Guitar Center and Musicians Friend have the ash FSR Standard Jazzes in natural and show them in stock.

Those online dealers also have the American Deluxe Jazz and the MIM Active Jazz from the Deluxe Series. However I'm not seeing any ash ones. I don't recall ever seeing an ash MIM Active Deluxe Series Jazz.

There are probably some new ones languishing in a small dealership somewhere waiting on a new owner. Check the Dealer Locator tab and start making calls or sending emails. You might get lucky.

At least the 4, southpaw and 5-string fretted Jazzes are here.

BTW, the fretless and ash-body models were gone.

Sounds interesting, but Fender never released an American Deluxe Jazz Bass with the '70s bridge pickup positioning and a matching unlined fretless P with the plain maple neck/fretboard.

I noticed that in addition to price increases, the American Deluxe Jazz no longer has a pau ferro fingerboard. I believe they did until last year. Not sure why the change. My Jazz has the pf fingerboard and I prefer it to any other wood that Fender has offered.

Price increases not withstanding, still the best bass there is for the money.
