Sadowsky makes a 1 3/4" nut option for their 5 strings. Carvin makes their 5ers that way too. Music man is also 1 3/4" on their 5ers.

When it comes to 4 strings, P basses have wider nuts and Jazz have more narrow nut. Why not make the 5 string models the same? Make the Jazz bass 1 3/4" and the P bass 1 7/8"?

I can't be the only one to prefer more narrow nut width. Other companies either make their 5's that way exclusively or make it an option.

I prefer the Fender brand. Yet other companies are tempting because of their options. I really wish Fender kept up. More color options, well...options in general.

The New American Deluxe Jazz nut dimensions are really narrow 1.5" for 4 string..... 1.625" for 5 string.... significantly less than American standard 1.875" for P and J. I'm buying a 5 string one Wednesday.

WOW if the nut width on the new deluxe is 1.625"”(41.3 mm), I will buy two of them! Something tells me this is a typo since the smallest I ever saw was 1.75" (44.45mm) and the average being 1.875"” (47.6 mm).

Can someone confirm 1.625" is indeed the new nut width and not a mistake on the web site?

Maybe they are measuring the strings and not the whole nut.... I'll know tommorow cause if its not narrow I may consider a standard jazz available

Cool, let me know. If it is really narrow I'm spending money this weekend.
