Are any of you farmiliar with the squire iffinity jazz bass? Because I'm looking to make upgrades. I'm gonna make a list and I'm just wondering if the upgrades will fit and or work or if it's worth it price wise.

From warmoth.com I think I'll get a silver perloid jazz bass pickguard.

Another will be EMG jazz bass pickups (passive)

(possible)bridge high mass

(possibly)neck warmoth jazz bass with tele head stock

thanks alot! Will p

hey will.. affinity will give you a lotta work dude.. anyways if you're really gonna mod something if i were you i'd rather get an MIM they're much easier to modify than the Squiers..

i don't think the pickguard would fit either unless you'd swap the control plate..

then if you're gonna swap the pickups, don't forget the pots they're 500k so switch them to 250k..

and bridges are optional if you'd really want sustain... well there are some bridges out there like Gotoh, Schaller Bad $@! II...

Prioritize. Pickups should probably be top of the list. A pickup will do wonders on a squier bass, as long as you know the tonal characteristics of the pickup you're putting in.

As people said, pickguards don't always fit squier basses well. Squiers also use mini pots, which wont fit in a regular pickguard.

I wouldn't spend the money on a high mass bridge for a squier. I don't think it's worth it. They can get near 100, and I think you are better off saving that mod for a bass with more natural resonance.

I would say the same for a warmoth neck. They're great necks, but they can get pricy. I don't think it's worth pairing a really good neck with a mediocre body. And bodies can make a difference in tone!

@anubis
Question... what do you mean by mini pots?

the standard CTS fender pots doesn't fit the Squier Jackplate?

I'm not 100% on that, but I'm pretty sure most asian made guitars/basses use mini (metric) pots, which have a smaller diameter than standard CTS pots.
