I was wondering if there is anyway to adjust the pickup pole height? I have a 98 jazz which features five large pole pieces per pickup as opposed to the usual smaller ten. In Fender product shots I notice that the poles are flush with the pickup top, but on my five-string, the pole heights are in a contour that roughly mimics the fingerboard (i.e., the d-string is at the top of the curve and the other pole pieces are set lower).

Is there a way to adjust these and is it something best done by a tech? I'd like the b-string to have a little more umph if possible.

Thanks.

I wouldn't risk trying to adjust the actual pole pieces on these pickups. I would rec. that you tilt the pickup or adjust where the 'B" string goes over the pickups from the bridge saddle.

I think if you start pounding on a pickup to move the pole piece you risk breaking its winding.
