Guys, does anyone use this technique to fix scratches and dents? any tips?

I wanted to try steaming the back of the neck with soldering iron and a damp cloth but I'm still having doubts or maybe i should just leave it alone..

I would never put a hot soldering iron to the back of my bass's neck D8

maybe it's a technique that works, maybe it doesn't. This might not be the best DIY job.

If you want to do it there are a couple of things to remember about this technique.

Steaming will take out dents that are not sealed by finish.
If the dent is under the finish its not going to work.
Also If the dent involves a tear or cut in the the grain of the wood, steaming will not work as well.

That being said:
If you have an unfinished dent you can try the soldering iron on top of a wet cloth placed over the dent or if the dent is in a rose wood finger board, you can try removing the neck and holding it over a boiling tea kettle to steam out the dent.
I did this on my old Pbass and it worked very well to remove some fingerboard dents.
