I've noticed some items have disappeared since Fender launched the new site. Let me know if I miss any.

Jazz:

Classic 70's jazz bass
american deluxe ash, ash 5 string, fretless ash, regular am. deluxe, am. deluxe 5 string.

Precision:

No model has been dropped as far as I can tell, but there is only one remaining color for the Am. Deluxe

Jaguar:

The bass is still there, but they dropped olympic white.

I have a strong feeling we're gonna be seeing new American Deluxe basses this NAMM. Over the past two years Fender has revamped the standard and american standard line, and the American Deluxe series hasn't been upgraded for a number of years. And considering the website is only displaying one color of the am. delx. precision, and only has the left handed fretted and fretless versions of the am. delx. jazz, I think something is definitely up.

The mark hoppus signature is still there. It's technically a jazz bass, so it's under the jazz bass section.

The aero p bass was actually discontinued about 6-9 months ago, along with the 24 deluxe jazz basses. It's a shame, the aero P bass was a really beautiful instrument. It is still manufactured as a MIJ non-export model, but it's very difficult to get a hold of those.

I've a Korean made 24 fret J Bass 5 string which I've been told was dropped. A shame as the instrument is very affordable and nicely made. The preamp (S. Duncan Basslines) crapped out on me but it still works in passive mode.

Jaguar is still there. The big block has been gone for like 2 years, and the aero p about a year.

Can anyone confirm this? I want to buy an American Deluxe Jazz, but I'm not quite ready to. If they are gone for the foreseeable future, I'll pluck one off of the web from a dealer that still has stock. Otherwise, I can breath easy and buy a new one later in 2010.

Best Regards,
Michael

Jazz: Classic 70's jazz bass

Phew! I'm glad I got mine (new) before the prices go up for used. I sold my Highway One (which I loved) for a '70s. As nice as my Highway was, the 70's is better!

Same with my B-DEC. I don't see that either. Prolly the coolest little practice amp since...ever!Image
