Specs for the Highway One model state: "2 Standard Vintage Alnico Magnet Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups."

Specs for the American Standard Jazz state : "2 American Standard Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups."

Specs for the American Vintage '62 state: "2 Vintage Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups."

They are all different apparently.

You have to be careful with the Fender website's designation of pickups. Sometimes this site is inconistant: it will have different pickups called the same pickup (such as "vintage jazz pickup or vintage jazz pickup with alNico magnets) or have the same pickups called something different on a different model (such as Original Jazz pickups and Vintage jazz pickups).

"Standard Vintage Jazz Pickups" seems to be a common pickup that Fender uses. At least on the site, these pickups are used on the Highway one, road worn, and classic 60's jazz bass. The 70's bass has "Vintage Style Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups with AlNiCo Magnets" and I have no idea if those are actually different than "standard vintage jazz pickups."

In terms of the difference between original (62 reissue pickups, also available aftermarket, on 62 RI and geddy lee) and the "standard Vintage Jazz," I'm not entirely sure since I have not done a side by side, but I believe the 62 reissue has a little more high mids. again, don't take my word for it.

I took a closer look, and it apears that the fender site is consistent about most of the names, i.e. "standard vintage alnico single coil pickups" appear to all be the same pickup.

The inconsistency that I am absolutely sure about is when the tech specs say "vintage single coil alnico pickups." There are several different basses with this identical tech spec on the website, but they have different pickups.

The 62 RI and geddy lee both use orriginal bass pickups (62 RI). However, the Jaguar, Marcus Miller sig, and a few others definitely don't use 62 RI pickups, yet the site says they have "vintage single coil alnico pickups"
