I have a Jazz Deluxe. I want replace the actives with a passive system. I imagine I'll have to replace the plate, electronics and all. Can anyone suggest some resources on the best way to approach this?

You can actually keep the plate. The deluxe J's and passive J's use the same control plate. What you need is a mono input jack, 3 250k potentiometers, and a tone capacitor (the stock is .047 uf). You can get these parts at a number of places, such as All Parts and http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/
