Hey guys can you share some stuff you use in cleaning your basses with?

I had GHS Fast Frets applied on the fingerboard before but as reviews that I've read, I'm having doubts with the product..
some say its good some say its bad, man it gives me the creeps..

can anyone suggest good fretboard conditioners and how about metal polishes stuff that are good for chrome hardware?

I've used the Fast Fret for almost 5 years now. It works just like it says it does. If you were looking for something to clean the fingerboard with though, a spray is just more convenient.

i see... some say fast frets are bad because of the silicon stuff do they really have silicon in them?..
anyways first time I bought them, I rubbed it on the strings..
well now only the fretboard.. til i use it up i guess.. are sprays better than lemon oil?

I have no idea if there is silicon in it, to the best of my knowledge it's just waxes and mineral oils, I've been using it on my equipment since I started playing, and it hasn't done anything bad to my instruments. You can use it on the fretboard, and I do, it's just a bit hard to get all on the board because of the stick.

fastfret does condition the rosewood right? is it safe when i use them with another fretboard conditioner?

i only use fastfrets well once in a while when i detune my bass and rub the stick on the fretboard, i had my acoustic back then and i took it for granted then suddenly cracks appears.. and I'm afraid same thing would happen to my bass..

Yeah, I'm not sure about using it with other conditioners, but I've been using it on all my stringed instruments for the last 5 or 6 years, rubbing it on the strings before and after I play, and I've never had a problem with it. I've used it on Rosewood and Ebony and nothing has ever happened other than it doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Edit: Yeah it does condition the Rosewood. Makes it look all nice and shiny. Where did you hear that it was giving people problems?

I was reading the musiciansfriend.com's review on the fastfret.. thats where I read some of the negatives.. anyways I kinda like the feel they give to my fretboard and no more sticky fretboard..
