no cell don't believe in them, no watch because they feel awackward when i play, no wedding ring either, the sound sounds like tis comming from the pickups like you can hear me plucking the strings with my fingers. i think it may be the pickups that are producing it but i can't be sure how can i find out?

My first thought: Your pickups are too high and when you play certain strings or notes, the affected strings may be slapping against the top of certain pole pieces thus causing the ticking noise. Simply observe what is going on when you play.

My second thought: One or both of your pickups are wired incorrectly and every time your finger touches a pole piece, you get that ticking noise.

I'll place my bet on my first thought though.

Or maybe your bass need some calibration. But I think the same maybe the pickups are too high.
