Based on the bridge, the headstock and knobs...I would venture to say that is not a real Fender.

The bridge has two bolts.... which is not a fender bridge. The logo is wrong too.... especially the "jazz bass" part....

For all I know there could be an obscure fender model out there that looks like this, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Buuut, even if it's not a fender, if it plays well and sounds good *shrugs*

Absolutely, positively not a Fender Jazz bass. Otherwise it would have a serial number and this does not. Might be a Squier with a counterfeit decal.

To me the knobs do look very close to early MIM Jazzes which had the "Vol" and "Tone" lettering and were sometimes black. The 5 screw bridge wasn't ever used on early MIM basses though as far as I know. The 5 screw bridge was used on some basses like SX and Jay Turser. The neck headstock shape however is not like either of those knock-offs. Also they used different knobs. The back and edges of the headstock show some signs of a previous finish. It might be a Squier neck on an SX or similar knockoff body with Fender MIM knobs...but in truth... I don't know for sure what it is. I just know it isn't Fender because of the bridge and the absence of serial number.

But as was said earlier, if it plays ok and sounds ok and as long as you don't try and sell it as a Fender bit deal. It has lots of counterfeit sisters out there. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
