I have been looking to get one Fender Jazz Dexlue, American One.

But, I found some differences bt them.

Some have "SCN" (black) on pickup, but some have "Noiseless" (kinda gold color?)

What's different ?

It's only upto the time ? Noiseless 's old model and SCN's newer ?
Since all the new model has "SCN" on pickup.

Share yours.

The Am. Deluxe Jazz basses used to use the 'noiseless' jazz pickups, but all of them since 2004 use the SCN pickups. They are both quite different.

I'm not sure of the 'noiseless' ones are same as these pickups:

But its the same idea: stacked jazz coils to eliminate the hum.

The SCN pickups are a very unusual design that doesn't use traditional magnets (mostly anyway) and has a very complex design. It's a very different sound than the 'noiseless' ones, and it's worth trying em out. I guess the best way to describe the tone of them is very balanced.... the 'noisless' tend to have a little mid scoop, and other vintage pickups have boosted hi-mids and mellower highs. The SNC though have a very balanced output across the frequency spectrum.
