No personal experience with the QP's, but i do have a set of SD basslines in my MIM 4 string (love 'em). I've heard nothing but good stuff about the quarter pounds.

Erf.... I'm not a huge fan of quarter pounders. They have a lot of thump, but they have a natural mid scoop which I really don't like. I'd say it has less midrange than most jazz bass pickups, and it's the midrange that really makes the jazz bass tone. I also don't think it's an aggressive sounding pickup at all, again beacuse of the midrange presence.

IMHO, you will lose the characteristic jazz bass mid range growl if you switch to Quarter Pounders. If that's what you want then by all means get the Seymour Duncans, but if not I would suggest Lindy Fralins.

I second that. Jazz basses are all about the midrange, and quarter pouders have a big midrange scoop. I mean, if you like how that sounds, then go for them. If you like the 'jazz' tone, then don't.
