I am looking at maybe adding this to my 2008 Fender Squire Jazz bass.
I loke the way the bass plays and would like to know if you guys recomend adding this to the bass.

I got my bass set up and the intonation dialed in.
I play a lot of modern rock and some hard rock.
Would this be a good addition to the bass or should I keep it factory stock.

I usually run my bass thru a digitech death metal distortion petal for some crunch when I need it.

Any thoughts?

It's a good upgrade, and may add a little more sustain, but I'd swap out the stock pickups before getting a new bridge. Of course, you have to make sure what you buy will fit your Squiers' pickup cavities.

If you think it sounds fine, then leave it as is and maybe save money for new American Fender....maybe a highway one or one of the MIJ Fenders.

I was going to add EMG HZ to my VM, but after playing more and more, I like the classic growl the stock Duncan Designed pups sounds. So BadAss II was put on it. I play solo usually jazzy/funky stuff, with the band usually NYHC/Metal stuff. It suits me, granted it's not my main bass. If you like the way it sounds, leave it alone, get the bridge, like RaginRog said, if not, pickup 1st then bridge. Just my $.02. Good luck!!

I put a BA II on my MIM J Bass and installed a set of Bill Lawrence ( www.billlawrence.com ) J Bass pups.

Just an FYI -

I have a Mike Dirnt Artist Series '51 style P-Bass. It has a Custome Shop vintage ‘59 Split Single-Coil Pickup pickup and a Leo Quan B-A II bridge...

I also have a Standard P-Bass (MIM) with the stock Alnico 5 / Split Single-Coil Pickup and HMV bridge.

The Mike Dirnt Artist Series with the B-A bridge has a slight bit more sustain than the Standard, so if that helps you in your decision, have at it...

I have used J-basses configured with the B-A and without, and again - the sustain is a bit longer with the B-A. The dampening is not quite as quick because of the B-A materials, spacing parameters and overall layout.

After i tried out the Badass II bass bridge on my MiM Fender Jazz (first bass) i couldn't get enough of it matter of fact i make sure its on every bass i own now but don't go much further than the bridge on a Squier in my opinion they are decent for starting out but if your wanting to make a bunch of upgrades you should upgrade your bass first instead of pouring money into a bass that doesn't have the potential of a bass that costs more money but yes if you want to get more sustain and beef up the sound a bit i would HIGHLY reccomend it and bravo to fender for putting it standard on the limited edition hot rod jazz :)

The Sustain on the Badass Bridges are Great, but thats on my Fender GL Bass. I'm not sure how it would sound on a Lower End Model since you have to take in consideration that the Woods are different, and the pick-ups are different. With that being said it might not make much of a difference. But in the end it shouldn't make your bass sound worse with the ugrade, but it might not make it sound better either.

Not really much help. Sorry.
