You can now get the Geddy Lee J bass in sunburst!! it looks pretty sweet, it has a black pick guard on it, same electronics and hardware. Iv hear nothing bad about Geddy Lee J bass,

That's really cool actually! I always thought the black version seemed too bland. It really kept me from considering purchasing it.

So instead I wound up with a classic 50's pbass.

Hi

I'm not so sure about the new version, never seen Mr Lee play a sunburst version of his famous j bass! I love my trad Black version!

I have a 2002 GL and it COOKS!! I've never played a better sounding, Kick-In-The Groin bass. (i'm 48 and have played many basses). I run my GL thru a vintage Fender Bassman 200 w/a 15 . Never disappoints!!.

I believe he uses a sunburst jazz that has an unusual tuning for one of his songs. I don't remember which song or what the tuning is (and no, it's not the other red bass that has a strange tuning that he uses for one song.... yeah, he does that a lot).

I own a 2008 Geddy Lee Bass and Love It. Not because of Geddy Lee's name, but the sound & feel of it. I'm glad they are doing a different color. I will save up and buy one.

I saw that they are now selling it at Samash, but not yet at Musiciansfriend, Music123, or Guitar Center. It is listed a little bit Cheaper than the Black & White Model, but not much cheaper.

I like the look of it. I've got a jazz bass by another company that looks just like it.
