I just traded my old bass to a Fender Jazz Bass Special, but I cannot find any specs or which year it is made. It looks too much like Duff McKagan signature model, but has a copper-ish/pink-ish(not sure) color, Basslines J and P pickups and there is a 4th knob instead of a pickup switch.

Its serial no is : E537300

Can anyone help me ID this guitar?

I don't know what model it is off hand, but is there anything else you can say about the bass? # of fretts, frettboard wood, trussrod adjuster at the headstock or at the bottom of the neck, if it's MIM, MIJ, or MIA. Those would all really help.

What's the serial number? Lots of us will try to help, a lot of us will help. Lots of reasons why some questions take longer to answer than others.

Looks like you traded one old bass for another old bass.

Based on the serial number provided in your original post I get the following output from the Guitar Dater Project.

"Your guitar was made at the Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan
in the Year(s): 1984 - 1987"

You can find easy stuff like that yourself right here on the Fender site or on my site. You just have to look for it.

Without any photos there is nothing more I can say for free about this bass. Welcome to the forum and good luck.

Here are the all of its specs I can tell:

- 20 frets
- Rosewood fretboard
- Basslines P and J pickups
- P body shape
- Truss rod is at the body end of the neck, not on the head
- Has black painted neck and head
- 4 knobs, one volume with white numbers on it, others are completely black

The writings on the head are:

"Fender logo, Jazz Bass Special Made in Japan, serial no: 537300"

BTW, I researched all that serial no stuff already. The reason I asked you guys is that I cannot seem to find the specific stuff I want and I need some more experienced people's help for that.

Sorry about my bitterness again.

That is a correct guess, sir. My old bass was a '91 MIJ Ibanez SR886. :)

That was NO GUESS. When I say something it is based on FACT.

I can not say why exactly, but you have REALLY rubbed me the wrong way..

I think you misunderstood me sir, I realized I might've sounded bitter about asking help, and I apologize for that again. Since we cant show or see mimics here, I cannot adjust my tone.

What I was trying to say was I do not have so much knowledge about guitar info research, and I wanted to ask you experts about specific stuff. I didn't want to be disrespectful, however I see that I was, and I feel like an idiot about that.

I am sorry about wasting your time, sir. Have a good day.

Yes they are and some sweet soul before you CHANGED the pickups for you...you lucky ducky!

Jeezus what freaking color is that Asian nightmare?

I'm guessing "Elvis Is Dead And I Don't Feel So Good Myself Cyanotic!"

Hope it sounds good because that color just isn't me....exactly...yet...check back in 20 years though.
