Forumites!
I need your help on this:
I have a Fender Jazz Bass with S1 switch.
And I want to modify the electronics so that I get
Mastervolume, Blend and Tone + a microswitch for the S1.
Is this possible?
Or do I have to choose between blend function or S1?
And I would appriciate some wiring diagram....

Ooooh yeah, that's no problem. You could have volume, blend, tone, and use a push/pull control for the S-1 switch. The thing is, the S-1 switch is just that: a switch. What it does for the bass is put the pickups in series (they're normally parallel). This can be done a ton of ways, and easily done with a DPDT switch (which is FAR more common than an s-1 switch).

You could have the series/parallel switch as a mini toggle or a push/pull. The nice thing about the push/pull pot is that it doesn't modify the appearence of your bass.

I took another look. If you want blend and a switch for the series/parallel, you can do it, buuut, in series mode you need the pan pot set to the neck side. I've heard some people say you can't do it, but it's bull. I can give you a diagram if you like.
You could also do it with the S-1 switch, which would mean you don't need to worry about the blend pot position at all in series mode, and that's simply because toggle switches are 2P2T and S-1 switches are 4P2T, which gives you more possibilities. But frankly setting the pan pot to the neck in series mode is not that bad.
