I recently came across a for sale ad on Harmony Central for a 1978 Jazz bass that was stolen from me in April 1984. I have made several attempts to contact the seller and made it clear that I was not accusing them of any wrong doing since the bass probably changed hands several times in the past 23 years. I just want the bass back, no questions asked. I even offered to give them my 1976 Precision which is in much better condition if they would return the Jazz Bass to me. I have records proving that it is the same bass that was stolen from me and pictures of myself playing it. The seller has not contacted me and Harmony Central had been no help. If anyone knows who the seller is I would appreciate it if you let me know. Here is a link to the ad

Thank you

I hope you get it back and it was the same as it was in '84. G/L with it. I think there is a statute of limitation with theft, so having the cops involved won't do any good. Somebody else might know if this is true or not. Either way, hope you get the baby back.

Thanks, the bass was in much better condition when it was stolen but I would still like to get it back.

Just for the fact you're getting your baby back is enough to overlook the condition she is in right now. You can always restore her back to how you had it, or upgrade her - if you like, and don't care about increase/decrease of the value of a Fender. Good luck, I certainly know how you feel, I've had things stolen and see it later on for sale.
