I have a Black Fender Jazz Deluxe with a Black pick guard. I liked the look originally but was thinking about mixing it up. I was wondering if anyone knows a good place for custom pick guards either online, or local (So Cal). I personally wanted a pick guard with the tortoise shell look but green, and I can't find one. Hell I don't even know if you can do tortoise shell in any other color but brown or red.

Help
Thanks

Welcome to the Forum.

As far as I know you are out of luck. No green ones to my knowledge.

Apparently while tortoises are actually sort of dark greenish, you can't find any green tortoise material for guitars. That actually would be kind of neat if it really looked like a turtle! LOL.

I did find some interesting green stuff though! Links to all these companies are on my REPLACEMENT/UPGRADE BASS PARTS page which you can get to from the RESOURCES link in my forum signature below.

From Pickguard Heaven

That one is from Greasy Groove

That GREEN MARBLE is from Jeannie and so is the next one which is GREEN WITH BLACK VEIN. (These seem to be exclusive to Jeannie.)

Again above two from Jeannie

That one is from Pickguardian

There are some solid greens but these are the more interesting patterns I found out there.

What your looking for is called "pearl". Fender itself makes green, red, white and black pearl pickguards. Is THIS what your going for?

Thanks BrotherDave that may have been the most helpful response to a forum question... ever. That Green Reptile skin pick guard looks pretty cool as well as the green w/black veins one. I had only been able to find mint green and green pearl up to this point and was looking for something a little bit more custom that helps alot.

You are welcome. I think the green with black veins from Jeannie is the best of the bunch and would look great on black.
