Hi, I'm not a bass player at all, but I think this is the place to get some help. I'm building a custom guitar for fun, and I think a Jazz bass control plate might be the thing I need to give it an unusual look. Can anybody here give me the following measuements:

total length
width at widest point (where it meets the pickguard)
center-to-to center of the screwholes

Might seem like unnecessary info, but I have already routed the body for a one piece pickguard, and if the figures are right, I'll be jazzing this baby up.

I am writing this at work so I don't have a Jazz bass to measure but what may be the best thing for you to do is to go to your local music store that is a Fender dealer and take your project guitar with you.
That way you can actually try a Jazz control plate on the guitar body and see if it fits your guitar as you are visualizing it to fit.

Ther are other separate control plates on other Fender guitars and basses so you may find that a control plate from a Mustang bass, Mustang guitar, or Telecaster guitar or bass may fit your project body bettter than the Jazz plate.

This is just a suggestion but it removes the possiblity of someone measuring their Jazz bass incorrectly and you building on an error.
