I thought the Classic Vibe Squire Jazz sounded pretty good with its stock PUs.

Why change them particularly if you have to dremel or drill?

Sorry- I replied too fast. You are wanting a classic P-bass but u want to use Jazz PUs?

I still say give the stockers a chance.
Too many assume that a Squire bass need new pickups too fast IMHO.

Just play the sucker and invest in lessons with a good teacher.

I agree. If you want a J pup buy a J or maybe a P/J arrangement. Tommygun is a creative free spirit though. He's gonna do what he's gonna do. I've done some stupid things too. Live and learn.

At Tommy's age, doing stupid things is required. Go for it kid, we all need things to regret once we figure out how dumb we were.
