I havent done this mod, but you should be able to "eyeball it" if someone with the covers lets you try fitting them before you invest in a set.

You have to drill holes in your bass to mount these covers conventionally.

Nobody says that you can't mount them unconventionally with velcro if you want.

That actually may be a cool alternative way of doing this!

I'm pretty sure 4 string pickup cover won't work on a 5 string.

Fender makes a 5 string Jazz pickup cover which is available now as an individual part after being introduced on the Marcus Miller artist series model.

Bass Parts Resource has them. You can get to them from the RESOURCES page in my signature below under the REPLACEMENT/UPGRADE BASS PARTS category.

I've never seen a Fender 5 string Jazz bridge cover and from eyeballing it the 4 string cover is too small. The custom pickguard shape on the Marcus Miller is too large to use a bridge cover because the lip of the cover would extend over the pickguard. You can see that in the photo at the following link. On the left in that photo is Michael Frank-Braun (Fender Marcus Miller Project Manager) and Mr. Miller is on the right:

Interesting reading there.
