Hello everyone, I picked up my Geddy Lee Jazz Bass 2 weeks ago untouched and still in the box, lucky enough not to get the showroom floor abuse model.
All I have to say is WOW! Gorgeous bass! I had been looking at buying one for months in advance before I slapped down a deposit.
The look is so classy, the black binding and inlays on the maple neck give it a great visual touch; my neck even has a little birdseye to it. The Leo Quan BadAss II bridge is a must-have for every Jazz Bass, SUSTAIN! I hear notes for days with that bridge. It is so good infact that I am reminded of Nigel Tufnel thinking of it...
I first noticed the Geddy signature Jazz when I watched Rush in Rio; Geddy has been a main influence in my playing development in major ways. Although I am sure I am not the only person on this site counting Geddy as an influence and a total bass monster.
I just thought I would share with you all and also see what you all have to say about the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass or the man himself.
Take care everyone,
Spencer

They are excellent basses, one of the few signature basses that are worth the money. I'm not a fan of the ultra-slim neck but it's an excellent bass to play and sounds awesome!

Nice Spencer! I love Rush, and Geddy Lee is one of my favorite bass players.

You should post some pictures of it on here, I would be really stoked to see it.

I anguished over the Geddy for close to a year before I saved up the $$$ to buy one- so worth the back-breaking summer job!

They are without a doubt Fender's best bang for the buck!
Go to Bass Player TV, Geddy's showing off his basses....get this...his original '72 jazz neck is toast, he replaced it with...you guessed it a "Geddy Lee Jazz" neck. :P

I will be getting my Geddy bass at the end August from my local music shop. I must say they are of the most beautiful basses I've played, and tone is awesome and the neck is fantastic!.

I bought one two years ago and it's been my main bass since then...I really love the feel of the neck! :D I think that is a really good looking bass: bloks, binding, maple fingerboard, vintage tuning machines...it's perfect!

Awesome Bass and an Awesome player...I been following Rush since the stone age and Geddy is one of my influences also. I read the recent BP article featuring Geddy and his Bass and I liked his conversation about his whole set up, tho' he still tries to get that "Rickey" sound at the top end, but hey...it's Geddy Lee!

Love the look and the price is great, but the neck is sticky and way to thin for my liking. Give me a regular J bass neck with a satin finish and it would be a no brainer!
