I want to do the best to preserve the finish and function on my '62V Re-issue P-Bass. I am not sure whether a humdifier matters for a solid-body instrument finish or not. If so, can anyone suggest a good style humidifier? By-the-way -- it has a Rosewood fretboard which I've ordered appropriate conditioner for and I live in Florida as-far-as climate goes.

I wouldn't think that a humidifier would be needed in Florida. I would think that you may have too much humidity, but you know where you live, and the way a lack of humidity demonstrates itself on a Fender bass is fret sprout and neck relief. Your neck will suddenly become painful to play because the fret ends will extend beyond the edge of the fingerboard. A trip to the repair shop can have the freat ends dressed so that it doesn't happen again.

You can add humidity by using a humidifier in the house or room in which you keep your bass, or just lessen the amount of air conditioning you are using.
