I recently found out about a method that can be used for tinting a bass's neck and headstock wood to make it look more like an old bass (from Markbass). I decided to do this on my MIM fender jazz bass, because i allways thought the wood was way too light. here are some before/after pictures:

thanks man! its really simple, all you need is Kiwi Brown Shoe Polish! you cover the neck with it, then let it dry for 30 mins, then you wipe it off, i only did one coat, but you can do more for a darker colour!

Did it affect the fender logo at all? Because My first fender will prob be a mim precision and the headstock is way to light. But I would heve it a little lighter than your headstock, to me...it is a little to dark. Would just put a lighter coat on to make it lighter than yours?

it doesnt affect the decal, i had my worries about that too, but its completely fine. the only thing i had to take off were the strings, and the string tree, also to make it lighter i would either give it a lighter coat, or leave it on for less time.

good luck

when you do it make sure to post some before/after pics!
