One of my all time favorite basses I've ever played/own is a 1983 Fender 62 Reissue Jazz bass. It was originally olympic white but faded to that buttery mellow yellow. It has the routers hump from that authentic hand tooling and with flat wounds on, its just plays and sounds AWESOME! Does anyone else have a similiar experience? What about a P-bass with flat wound strings? I think flat wounds on a j-bass is da bomb yo! LOL

Buddy you should check out the post that i have all about the '62 Jazz Bass Reissue. I play a 3-tone sunburst american reissue jazz bass. Love it to death. The best bass made by Fender. I'm so happy they don't mass produce this bass.

The bass i play has the body of a 1983 '62 RI body with a wormoth neck. It feels great and i haven't found anything that sounds better in my opinion. I like the stack controls.
I really want to know why i find a lot of bodies, with electronics, on ebay. Do people buy them for the neck shape then put it on whatever else? Mostly the MIJ bodies but every once in a while some 80s stuff.

I picked up a '62 Jazz in Olympic White a few months ago and it quickly became one of my all time favorite basses. I recently strung it with TI flats and it's a groove machine! Love the tone!
