I bought a Jazz Bass but how can I know if it's for example Highway One or American Standard?

Location: In the pocket north of Washington D.C.
Hwy 1 basses have a dull finish that has no clear coat and therfore they will scratch and dent easier than an American Standard bass.

The USA basses have a different bridge since I beleive that the Highway One basses are using BADASS bridges.

Post a picture of your bass if you want more info. There are a lot of Fenders out there and you may not have either if you really don't know.

It dosn't string threw the body, no nuts on the tunning pegs, not a poly finish, and the the neck plate should be blank unless it has been changed...so it's the older model Hwy 1 Jazz Bass.

You may be getting confused when the other guy says "older". Hwy 1 basses haven't been out that long (just a few years). But Fender has made changes to them recently. So when he says "older" he means a Hwy1 from a few years ago rather than the absolute newest model. Seems like a nice bass you got! Enjoy!
