Ok my fellow Fender Bass friends,
I am a tone junkie. I am always looking for big dirty, grindy bass sounds. I thought that I had found it once I had my Fender Precision Bass Lyte fixed and back in my hands where she belongs. The bass mixed with my Ampeg BA-115 (for at home practice) was big and boomy. I just happend to be looking on-line for bass pickups, I was going to get the coustom shop 60's jazz pickups for my mexi, I for some odd reason came upon the Sansamp Bass Driver DI. I liked the sounds that I had heard on-line at musiciansfriend. I went to my local Guitar Center with a trade in looking to order the custom shop pickups, when I asked if they had the bass driver. They had it and I asked if I could take her for a spin. I was blown away. I play with one of the best riggs money can buy the 3-pro with the 4X10 HLF cab, and it made my SVT sound like six times better. I even tried it just as a direct box and I was blown away. So to make a long story short I didn't get the pickups after all, I got the Sansamp Bass Driver. You guys have got to get one if you don't have one already. It frickin' AWESOME!!!! Let me know what you guys think. Sorry this post took two weeks to read.
MiketallicA315!!!!!

Personally, I have never liked a dirty over driven bass sound. Guitarists are generally provding more than enough distortion in band and to add to it by distorting the bass only makes things sound muddy. I used to have a deal with Ampeg and dropped it because I was never happy with the tone. I tried many different types of effects and eventually switched brands of amplifiers. I am much happier now. That's just my opinion but then again, everyone has their own tastes which is what makes music so much fun to play
