Hey guys,

I have a Fender Standard Jazz Bass with an ash body. It's been the best bass I've ever had so far except for one issue. When I play open D string I can hear the bridge making a small ringing sound its audible when playing without an amp, but when it's plugged in I can't hear it luckily. Can anyone tell me how to fix this. I remember my old teacher fixed it for me once in a matter of minutes on an crap Ibanez.

Thanks,

Joe

not really it still rings I'm not sure if that means the bridge itself is loose or one of the strings is vibrating in the saddle or the saddle itself is vibrating

my bass did this, and it was simply that ont of the small coild of wire on one of the strings was touching one of the springs on the bridge, and when i played that string it vivrated, making a weird ringing noise, so it might just be the strings. Whatever it is its probably nothing serious, but if u want to do something i think you should see a professional.
