I have found an american standard Jazz bass for R8000-00, which is roughly $965, is that a good price?

The brown sunburst had a price tag 50 Euros heavier.
Here that's a good price (at least for my J-bass), even if common math says otherwise .
Can't complain: I heard Down Under MIM J-basses are much more expensive.
What do you think, guys?

Are Markbass amps a good price in Italy??

I paid $1150 for my Markbass 210 combo

Not mocking, serious question, are Markbass amps good amps? I've seen people in all sorts of different bands using them here at gigs. The sound is never mixed well so I can't really judge it. I just saw one yesterday @ GC for the 210 combo, pricey amps.

I happen to love Markbass amps. It's one of those things where you either love them or hate them. In general, they are hi-fi without being sterile, which is a huge plus. It finds a happy medium between hi-fi and colored, leaning toward the hi-fi side but still having life in it.

Although the cobos are very expensive, their amp heads are a steal. 600 bucks for a Little Mark III, which is absolutely a professional level head. People think they can't be good because they're very light and inexpensive, but what allows them to do that is that they use a digital power source instead of an analogue, which doesn't effect the tone but effects the cost and weight.

I also really like the EQ on the LM3. It's 4 band set at 40 htz, 360 hz, 800 Htz, and 10K, all of which are practically ideal for what I do.

Bottom line, if you want a fantastic head that is light, inexpensive, hi-fi with life, but still a professional level amp head, Markbass is for you (god, I feel like a spokesperson)

I think they are wonderful amps; and I don't think they're that much more expensive then SWR or GK 210 combos. I've played everything from modern and classic rock, songs by NIN, and Rancid, and have been able to dial in a very similar sound by simply using the two tone shaping knobs they have. One mimics the overdriven (gritty at times) tube sound, while the other basically scoops the mids for some added thump.

Best part is, I've been able to hang with 2 guitarists on stage. One playing a Mesa dual rectifier 1/2 stack, the other a gughes kettner 210 combo....all without ever turning up my Master past 4 (10 o'clock).

Oh yeah....the 210 combo weighs all of 44 lbs.

I had a GK RB1001 210 combo, and I happen to trade it in on the purchase of this amp....haven't regretted it yet.

Hartke amps are sweet too. They're punchy, and the sound is crisp. Almost bought one when I first started out, but got a good deal on the GK at the time. The new Hyperdrive sets look great.....must be, considering Mr. Wooten has decided to team up with Larry.

Take Care Man!!!

Our band used to open for Madball, 25 ta Life, AF back in the '90s. Our guitar player went to Europe to play guitar on tour with Rick ta Life in the mid 90's, it was 25 ta Life/Krutch/Comin' Correct, they also did Japan. We did the One Voice tour with AF, opened for Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, AF. It was a great time back then. 25 ta Life still around now too, Rick's in Baltimore now I think. Small world! Have a great 4th!!

Hi,

I bought an 1972 jazz bass yesterday, (fully worn) for 3000 Euros, 'cause it sounded the best among the collection at the collector.
