Well folks, lets see how you guys have customized your Jazz Basses.

I have a 2005 American model that I modded up a bit. Nothing fancy:

I of course started with the pickuard/bridge/ and pickup swap, going with a pinup pickguard, BADASS III bridge, and some DiMArzio Model J pickups. I also wanted to add an Active Preamp, but love having a tone knob so I added an Audere Peamp, and added a strat style output jack on the side. I also added a Hipshot d-tuner.

So Watcha got??

I played it for 33 years. That'll get it pretty personalized...

    Changed the Pot knobs
Moved the upper bout strap pin
Installed Strap-locks (These may have come OEM)
    Changed to heavy gauge strings
Tune the bass one tone lower D-G-C-F

Which strings are you using?
I love EB power Slinky's because of the .110 E string, as my band plays a 1/2 step down....not incuding the drop C# songs we play.

Sorry I don't have a camera haha, I used 600grit sandpaper and it took just the right amount of the finish away because to me it felt kind of thick. It was my first time trying something like this and I was a bit worried, but I like the results. My bass still sounds the same too... =D

I've had my bass for a little over 3 years and countless hours and a lot of money later, here's what I've got now.

schaller strap locks
new pick guard
Bass lines quarter-pound pick up in the mid position
bass lines vintage pick up in the bridge position.
Vintage style thumb rest and mid position pick up cover
Bad $@! II bridge
Stellartone Tonestyler. (best purchase ever, works amazingly with new pick ups)

And who says Mexicans aren't good! haha
This bass will literally play any kind of music i want it to.

sorry I don't have a picture of what it used to look like so i borrowed one from Musicians Friend

I modded my MIM Jazz with Bassline Qtr Pdr and Vintage pickups and replaced black control knobs with chrome knobs. Sweet!

Your Jazz bass looks sweet. Like the choice of pickguard!
I just put a mid pup cover on my Sunburst to give it a bit o' that vintage vibe.
