I posted that I recieved a Fender '62 Reissue Jazz Bass for my Birthda/Christmas present. I did not mention that it was in genuine Fender parts gathered over a six month period and needed to be assembled by me (with the help of my daughters - future Fender players no doubt :D )

So here is what we have:
-CIJ '62 Reissue neck
-CIJ '62 Reissue body in Fiesta Red
-MIA '62 Reissue Tortoise Pickguard
-Fender Vintage Brass Bridge
-Fender Vintage revers tuners with rivets
-Fender Stack Knob and Pots with detent on the tone control (love them)
-Fender ceramic disc capacitors in .05uf for the neck and .03 mf for the bridge (Fender specs)
-Cloth covered push back hokup wire
-Brass ground plates for the pickups and control cavity shield with external ground strap to the bidge
-Pickups are GFS Vintage matched Jazz bass set wound to 10k ohms. This is my first experience with them - so far so good.
-Bridge pickup cover - they look so classy

Here are some pics of the assembly and the finished product.

This is an incredible looking and sounding bass. I would never part with it.

Note when the tuners are being installed the bar of soap for lubing the threads of the small screws. That's rock maple kids - no lube = stripped and broken screws

PS. I appologize in advance if there are too many pics posted. This is my first time posting pics and I am not sure of the forum etiquitte.

Hey JBH, 8)
Very cool! I think that your bass is awesome. Excellant work, made even cooler by having your daughters help. Enjoy your bass.
