so this christmas i decided to try out some new strings, i got dean markley blue steel ML, i really like them but i have major fret buzz on A and E string, any way i can fix this? ive heard it could be the action but dont know for sure :?

i have had fret buzz using other strings, but not as bad as these, if it is the strings can you give me some other ideas for brands to try out for a squier vintaged modified jbass. thnx

Sudden fret buzz after changing strings can also mean that your bass neck needs an adjustment. The change in seasons as well as the new strings can make the neck relief or bow, increase or decrease. Take the bass to a qualified repairman for a neck adjustment and set up.

Raise your action our check the neck releif. Both of these could be causing the problem.
