Is it a shame that great guitars are collected - bid up to the heavens and so not available to most working musicians?

Greetings fellow JB lovers,
I have a absolutely mint 50th Anniversary Cherry Quilted Maple Jazz Bass -- #217 of 500.
If it was just beautiful, that would be enough... but what an amazing instrument! - I haven't heard such a harmonically rich bass since the day I packed up my highly modified & fretless 1966 Dakota Red, Mustang
(Jazz and P-Bass PUs wired direct to output - mylar covered fingerboard all mods done by John Carruthers of Venice CA)

This JB is more powerful of course (size and weight) and reminded me immediately of a JB that Jaco had sold a friend of mine in Miami (a dusty little memory that popped right up like a someone called it's name )
Anyway Kudos to the Custom Shop, some 12 years now after y'all crafted it! Whew... it is the stuff ...

I am a guitarist but played the Mustang on a zillion sessions and loved it - what I call a "Guitar Player's Bass" and parted with it after 30 years to help fund my own line of Hollow-bodies and Arch-tops.
Not so sure I am going to put it to it's potential, de-fact-o collecting I suppose SO...

If the right player would like to put this baby to work, please contact me -- it SHOULD be heard, it's the sound that made old Leo's little guitar shop in Fullerton 60 years ago become the standard of the world.
