I JUST RECIEVED A AWESOME 1977 FENDER JAZZ BASS TABBACCO SUNBURST,IT HAS BEEN WELL USED .WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IS WOULD IT BE WORTH MORE WORN OR SHOULD I HAVE FENDER REFINISH IT??? HELP A BROTHER OUT!! 8)

Don't mess with the finish. Better just to live it as is and slowly put on ware by playing it. Just Don't take a Belt sander to the finish.

Dont touch it just play it ,i have a 72 jazz and it's worn and sounds great
you will loose value if you refinish it

As the others have said - Leave it alone. Any fender bass that has been refinished has lost 50% or more of its value on the vintage market. That's thousands of dollars on any Fender bass older than 1982.
I don't think Fender Inc. refinishes old basses or guitars at all. There are plenty of luthiers who will offer refinshing services, but it will still hurt the value of your bass.
Play it as is. Fender basses look very cool when they have honest mojo wear.
