Trying to install set of 60's J-Bass pickups in a warmoth body. The set came with two metal plates with a wire soldered to each and on one side of the plate is foam rubber. I assume these go below the pickups, but which way does the foam rubber side go? Is this a ground plate of some sort? Any info would be appreciated. :D

The bare side of the plate goes against the bottom of the pickup cavity, the foam goes against the bottom of the pickup.

Foam side up so that the p/u rests on it and you can adjust the height.

Thanks guys. This is my first install. One other question. Do I need to run a wire from ther control cavity to the bridge. And if so, where do I connect the wire to the bridge? On one of the screws?

You don't actually connect the ground wire to the bridge. The bridge sits on top of the ground wire, and the bridge screws clamp the wire between the bottom side of the bridge plate and the top of the body. Make sure there is sufficient bare wire or use a bare wire fore this to make a good ground connection to the bridge.
