Hi All
I'm newbe to this forum. Hope to be around for long run.
I great all forum members and hope to contribute.
I am a proud owner of Fender American Jazz Bass Deluxe.
I bought it from dealer in the internet on Jan 2008.
I got DZ5 model that means - 2005 model with 60ans decal.
Is that normal? Should I consult with Fender on this?
Other than that, the guitar is great.
Bless you all

That is normal. Some of the higher end models tend to sit around longer in music store stock. I bought a Victor Bailey Fretless Jazz this year from MusiciansFriend.com, and the one I got was a 2006 model. Still, it was a new bass, they just don't sell allot of them....thus it was in stock for so long.

Welcom to the forums. It's not a big deal unless it is to you. You spent it, but you didn't specify you wanted an '08 did you? So if it's brand new, it's brand new. I don't really care on that part. Keep all the receipts. Register your bass and send in the warranty card. Shouldn't be an issue incase you have something that's a warranty claim. Congrats on it.

PS. I bought in July this yr a Jazz Bass Deluxe V Active, turned out to be an early '07 model. But no biggie, no major changes from '07 to '08.

Thank you all! :P
PowerJazzBass - I truly accept your recommendation on the warranty card.
This is the proof for the purchase.
Yes, the guitar is brand new, well, now 7 months old aftre gigs and performances.
After several months, I took it to expert setup and put set of Elixirs. Strings feel bit too stiff  and I wonder if the Elixirs fit this model well.
Also, I found few brown stains that seem to grow up lately under the paint ( (mine - the amber JB Deluxe) stains size 5milimeterX2milimeter.
I wonder if this is due humidity or should I care about it at all?
Have a great weekend - I'm having a gig tomorrow morning.
Cheers :P

Hmm, I wonder if it's just stained from your gigs, or is it under the paint job, if it is, take it in to a Fender dealer, have them investigate it. If it's just stain, try polishing your bass.

Good luck on the gig.

I've not ever used Elixir strings, so I can't comment on it. Lots of people here do tho, they might be able to chime in.

You have a great wkend yourself, rock on @ the gig!!! 8)

Good for you. I just came back from a wedding and partied with AJ Pero, yep the drummer from Twisted Sister. He's my best friend's 1st cousin. Awesome guy. You have a great weekend yourself man.

I am currently using Elixir strings on my 50th anniversary jazz 5 string which has a string tru body bridge and they fit well. Regarding to sound , now its been a month of daily use and they still sound like new. Great tone too.
