Hi everyone - I am in Europe where prices for basses are high enough for me to buy from the US via my friend who lives there (and will fwd it to me). What concerns me is shipping this transatlantic...

I'm getting the new Classic 70's MIM Jazz Bass, and it comes with a deluxe gig bag. Now, I am planning on getting a Fender Deluxe hardshell case as well, and have my friend ship it in this rather than the gigbag - but I'm not certain ...so I'm asking you experts out there...

whether you think shipping the jazz inside the hardshell is a good idea or if I should go with a molded case instead or just not bother and have him fwd it just how musiciansfriend is shipping it inside the gigbag etc?

Any help on this is highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Gunnar

I would have your friend send it in the hardshell. Better protection for your new investment.

Bass > bubble wrap > hardshell > bubble wrap > box > box.
And make sure it has shipping insurance for the complete amount.
