I bought a white fender jazz bass MIM hoping to give it the same look as flea's 61 jazz bass, and the first thing i wanted to do was to buy a tortoi shell pickguard, and i have bought two and both of them didnt work. They had the right number of holes, they just didnt line up by about a milimeter!!!!

where can i find pickguards wich do not cost a fortune, and will fit my bass :?:

i live in the UK so preferably stores which ship to uk (though i have friends in america i can send it to so they can mail it to me).

http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/ they can get your tracing with the holes of your original pickguard and send it to you for a few bucks (sorry quids). Good luck....and welcome to the forums.

No problem, I do have to reword what I said, you the customer have to trace the pickguard with the holes included and send it to them to make a new pg of your choice, then they'll send it back to you. Good luck man!

Hi:

I bought an all-parts one because it had more of a red color than brown, but had to use an acrylic findernail file to make it fit over the top of the control plate. I looked at several even the Fender ones ond none seemed to match the factory MIM one exactly. Kind of a hassle but my bass looks better to me. Matches my 1963 Astronauts LP

cool, ive gotten mine, in the end WD music was the best option for me. This first one from them got to me broken, but the second one was all right. I did have to file it down around the pickups, but it was so worth it!

my bass looks great now. Ill post some pictures eventually at the picture thread!
