I too am suspect. I mean it looks to me to be an
early 70's as far as condition
and serial number. But I believe 71-72 had block inlays.

Perhaps it is genuine and had neck damage and they tried to save the decal ...but..... did a bad job?
It's possible but without dissasembling the
bass no one here can verify it with any great accuracy. We can only conject.

Obviosly the headstock was messed with by the decal
and the decal/serial number looks hand drawn which
is certainly cause for concern. However the "Fender" part of the
decal seems legit and is properly placed.


Bring it to an expert is my best advice.

hard to say except for the paint and pick guard it looks like my squire fretless.mine has 2 tone sunburst and no pick guard.
