I have a Fender American Deluxe Active Jazz Bass 4 string.

The Serial Number starts with a "Z0" plus 6 digits.
It appears to be a model year 2000 or 2001

Question I have is, all the Fender Factory stickers say American Deluxe, the dealer tag says American Deluxe.

I thought the American Deluxe model serial numbers started with "DZ"
This one does not but all the tags and stickers say American Deluxe next to the serial number.

Is this in fact an American Deluxe Active JBass?

It is in beautiful condition...

If it's active then it's a deluxe right?

That is what I am assuming, but why no "D" in the serial number?

Maybe someone at Fender can explain. I will be calling them today.

Thanks

Thanks for checking things out Franny!! I may play the thrash metal, but I am also into the many styles as well. The G&L in my pics is a 5 string L2500, I also own a beautiful ASAT Leo Fender Signature Model bass.
I was recently given an endorsement by Bernie Rico Jr. Guitars so I am anxiously awaiting a new custom 5 string. www.ricojrguitars.com if you want to check Bernie out. I'm listed on his endorsement section.
If you go to the different models he makes, check out the Jekyll. Mine is a version of the Jekyll bass he has pictured on the page.
Nice to know you! Best Regards!

Sorry Flip, it looked like a 4 banger to me at first.
Spalted Maple...yum!!! I also like the "Bongoisque" reversed headstock.

Sweet bass ins't it... the one I am getting is Flamed Maple, and will have a slight black fade to natural from the outside in on the front of the bass, plus an inlay in the 12th fret that says "FLIP"... had to do it! haha!
There are pics up of it on the myspace page. they are from the woodshop. no pick ups, no black fade, not buffed yet or anything.

Thanks for checking things out!
Flip
