I bought my first bass today!!!!
I shopped in the Guitar Center to look at a Fender FSR and the salesman asked could he show me 1 more Bass? It was an 06 Fender Jazz Bass S-1 sunburst. The guy said it was a left over demo and it's clearance price was $350.00. It was in perfect shape. He said there wasn't 50 hours of playing time on it. I feel like I have feathers in my mouth. I bought in on the spot. Is it a good buy? The original retail price was $899.99.

I've only played one S-1 before and i thought the switching was a nice feature.
If it's worth what you paid for it to you; then yes, you got a good deal.
The 50 hours is just a sales person jive, a polite way of saying "it's had the crap beat out of it for the last year".
Me personally? i never buy off the shelf anymore, i'll have them order me one, or go home and order one on the net.
The spontaneous deals are much harder to pass up though.

You got a great deal, make sure you get it set up before you take it home. Have them put new strings on it too. Can't beat that price. Just like getting an off the shelf cd player @ best buy, sometimes no box, but it should still be ok.

$350 for a MIA bass = Great deal.

And no pics = no bass.
