I don't know where that combination is now. Hopefully someones playing them both.

Similar necks do make a transition between a couple of basses a lot easier.

The cash flow of mine, is non existent.

You know, I noticed an interesting thing when I picked up the violin bass last night, which I didn't notice before. Probably because I've put in a lot of time on the Jazz which I never really did before. The neck on the violin bass is thicker on it, or at least feels like that, even though the spacing is slightly tighter. I guess it's probably a more round shape altogether, and the Jazz is flatter. Obviously they both have a different radius on the fretboards.

I know what you mean about the cash flow. I was looking on AMS last night, and the Squier Jazzes and Precisions are now $399 for new. I remember when you used to be able to get MIM Fenders for that, but then again, that was over 10 to 15 years ago. Still, they are pretty well made, I think. I think if I were able to get another Jazz, it would probably be the 70's reissue ones that Squier has, because they have the maple fretboards on them, and block inlays. It also would be kind of a tribute to my original '77 I had when I started out.

The Viola neck and board may be flatter, and wider. Maybe the shape of the neck. D shape necks are popular at times with Violas. Over a 9.5" radius. Say, 12" radius. The nut is probably larger than a Jazz 1.50". (1.65").

You know, I think you're right about that. I forget what the specs are on the violin bass, though. Maybe I can find it online, I'm not sure.
