You know, I wonder if that bass was originally Felix's? I was thinking about that before, because he did work with them and all of that. Probably not, but it could be a possibility.

It could have been. We'll never know now. I would have to believe though, Jack had his own EB-1.

Yeah, most likely the case, and now who knows where that is. Maybe his son has it.

I would assume his son has it.

That seems likely.

Of course you never know though. Sometimes a friend has dibs.

That's true. I've also seen some stuff in places like The Hard Rock Cafe, when I went to Foxwoods Casino many moons ago, and they had one there. They had some of Mountain's stuff on display. I remember some outfits, and a Les Paul Jr. (I think the model) guitar, which was Leslie West's. I can't remember if there were any basses there from them, though.

Funny how that stuff gets around.

Yeah, I don't know if it's lent to them or they now own the stuff, though.

I don't know how they acquire it either.

I guess they have people that acquire the stuff from the artists, or their estates, if they are no longer living. Maybe stuff is from auctions, too.

That would all make sense to ways of acquiring gear.

I wish I had the ways and means to acquire that kind of gear. :P Of course, I'd want to play on it, and not stick it in some glass case, though.

I think instruments were made to be played, not just locked up somewhere, but I suppose when something is so rare and valuable, there has to be some precautions taken with them.

There are enough playable instruments around, where some of those special ones can take their place in history.
