I obviously go more for the SG body over the Mustang body. And a lot of other designs, right, or wrong.

Well, everyone has their own preferences and tastes. That is a cool shape. I've never owned anything with that, though, just played on one of those Epiphone EB-0 basses like yours, and a '68 Gibson model in a shop in Clearwater, or New Port Richey, Florida. I forget which city. Come to think of it, I don't remember if it was an EB-0 or EB-3 model with that Gibson. I'm kind of leaning towards an EB-0 model, because I don't think it had those particular knobs on it like Jack Bruce's bass had.

I cam understand why the SG shape is not everyone's favorite, but in my case, I grew up with SG 6 stringers, and EB-0 / EB-3's. I still favor the SG 6 stringers for the loud rock sounds. Hell, Hendrix used them in conjunction with the Strats.

I think they're great for playing some narcotic music. :P I think if I had one, especially a beater, I'd want to either have some sort of psychedelic paint job, or stickers on it. It just has that vibe to me. I don't even know where or if you can even get those kinds of stickers anymore. I remember there used to be Spencer's in the mall that had all of that, and black light posters. Is that place even still around? I haven't been there since the 90's.

I don't what around in that 60's motif any more. I have it all in my head with past memories. "So many fantastic colors, appear in a wonderland",.............. What can I say.

I remember the joke that if you remember the 60's, you weren't there. :P It's funny how much drastically that decade changed from the beginning of it to the end of it. Compare 1960 to 1970, and it's like night and day. I guess a lot can happen in 10 years.

The funny thing about the thing with that bass, is the EB type one would really be the one I'd have any urge to decorate like that, if at all. I probably wouldn't with a brand new one, though. If it was already banged up, then maybe. I generally like to keep new instruments in the best condition, if possible. Although, I'm kind of bad about actually maintaining them in any degree. I don't polish or clean them, or keep them in any cases, which I don't really have in the first place. I do try not to bang them around, though.

Lucky for me, I was just old enough in 1960 to see, and remember. It's true how fast things did change in that decade, and then there were more changes from 1970, that weren't the better times then they were, only a year or two ago. It seems like as fast the good times arrived, they split.

I guess life can get like that, with various ups and downs. I tell you the last couple of years have been a $@!& show. I guess the one positive about it is that the music usually gets good when people get pissed off.

It does seem to be that way with music reflecting the pulse of society, moral outlooks, and world events.

Yeah, music does tie into a lot with life, even with various cultures. I think it's the universal language, as well. You could go someplace and not even speak the language, and get together with someone there and jam out, if they play, as well. That's the cool thing about playing music, at least with playing an instrument. Maybe singing would be a different story, because that does involve a language that you speak.

With the internet, the world is even smaller, and you can even collaborate with people from anywhere, as well. You don't even have to leave the country, or your house for that matter.

From what I'm seeing on the Epiphone bass page on their site, there are no offerings of either the EB-3, or EB-0. I don't know. I may have done better than I initially thought when I first acquired my EB-0.

Nope. It's been maybe,.......... a month or so since I noticed that, after someone brought it up in a thread about missing Epiphone Basses on the Gibson / Epiphone site. Oh well,.......... I have my "Electric Lady" now! Friday was a session here, where everything fell into place. One of those days when there was no effort to playing damn near anything I did play. Image
