Hi, I want to return my 62' Jazz bass to its original condition when I got it in 67'. That means refinishing the body back to white and putting the original electronics back in. All I am missing is the tiny thin brass ground strip that used to connect the bridge to the pickup. I assume it was connected to a brass plate that mounted under the pickup. Does anyone remake these? All I've seen are brass plates with a cloth wire. Thanks for the help.

You can recreate that grounding strip very inexpensively by soldering a 3/16" strip of .005" brass shim stock to the bridge pickup's cavity shield then folding it to the correct shape and inserting the other end between the bridge plate and the body. Brass shim stock is available at most hobby shops and many big-box hardware stores (Ace, Lowe's, Home Depot, and the like).
