I think it's an awesome bass. I was going to get one in black. Unfortunately having 2 kids, it's tough to save money to buy something, so I ended up with a Squier Deluxe V 5 sting. Mine's on order btw. If you can afford it, go for it. Can't go wrong, one of the few 24 fret Fenders.

:D - I just bought a new 4 string Deluxe Jazz and find it to be the best guitar I've ever owned. My previous love is my 62 P bass which I thought nothing could come near. The JAzz is extrmely versatile with the active electronics and the different tones are astounding. Listen to Marcus Miller to get the feel for the guitar. I highly recommend this bass. BTW, I also own a Fender acoustic bass, Rickenbacker 4003 stereo, Musicman 5 string, and an Alembic 5 string fretless. The Jazz is my favorite.

I played a Jaguar bass today for the first time.

I really liked it. With the switching, you can get just about any sound you desire.

I like the Deluxe V because the B-string doesn't sound 'muted' like on other basses that I've played in the past. I just ordered it, can't wait! :D

The jazz 24 V is the one Im going to buy soon , and in quilted sunburst! or maybe the American Standard five string! I went to a new store and they are authorized Fender dealer here in PR . They dont have the 24 V but they ordered the American Standard . So maybe next week I will go and check it out!
