The AC arrived at a destination sort facility in Fort Lauderdale, this morning. So, it should be up to the FedEx store by about noon. Of course, it didn't help on the Fender bases, that they raised up the price $50. almost across the board. There maybe some exceptions, but that's Fender.

Yeah, I've noticed they've done that. I've seen some other brands go up, too. Schecter is one I've noticed. I went to their site, which I hadn't been at in ages, and you can buy them direct there. I was looking to see if they still sold a particular model, which they still do, and the price was higher on it than it was a couple of years ago. I've also noticed they've switched their production from South Korea to Indonesia, with the cheaper models, with the South Korean ones being the expensive ones. I guess South Korea has gone up in the instrument production game, especially with pricing.

I guess it really doesn't matter where they're maid, as long as they do the right job. I do like some of the Fender Series being MIM. It's somewhat close to Fender America for parts, etc.

Well, I suppose one of the real differences between that MIM and MIA is about a 150 mile distance from the two factories, as long as the quality control is good with all involved. I think that's what really matters, is good quality control. Sure, some components might be more expensive, like certain pickups, etc., but if the people that are involved actually give a damn, or paid enough to give a damn to put it all together, then that's what counts.

I do believe my Player is a close second to an older style Am. Std. The Polar White with the Maple is what I've liked for a long time. Maybe a bit more than Olympic White.

I still think a Tortise Shell pick guard would look sharp on that AC Jazz Bass.

I always thought so, with that one, as well. I guess it's because the matching headstock finish and those inlays remind me of a 1960's custom Fender that had those, and usually had tortoise shell pick guards with them.

That's not a bad comparison. It seems like they've upped their game, then. 8)

Like I said earlier Trace Elliot did a limited edition Jazz style bass in about that color green with the Tortise Pick Guard that looked sharp.

I had a Tort on an AC a while ago. At the time it just didn't go for me. I may have to get the Tort out and slip it on there, with out screwing it into place. I thought I had two Torts, now I can only find one.

The Polar White is close to the Arctic White from what I remember of the Arctic finish. My Player Jazz is a pretty swift, well made Fender. No Smokin' & Jokin' about it!

Then you have the Olympic White, would be their classic finish, which they typically use on the reissue models.

Olympic White goes back aways in Fender colors.
The Polar White may get a Black Moto PG on it too, like the AC Jazz now has.

That would look cool, I think. How many spare pick guards do you have, anyhow?

I'm just about ready to change out the White PG, for the Black Moto PG. Or maybe a Tort. I think I have five Jazz PG's.
