Nice birdseye grain on the neck. :)

Thanks. I was pleasantly surprised when I uncrated it, to see the fretboard with some character to it.

I noticed the neck on it, as well. 8)

How about a matching P-Bass?

I was looking at the P-Bass offering of this series, and they do look rather interesting.

I looked at a 3-Color Sunburst / Maple today. It was nice, but the neck just doesn't fit right to me.

I would have no problem getting another Player Series bass, just not a Precision. I tried one out today, and it still doesn't feel right for me anyway.

The Epi EB-3 is another story though.

Yeah, there is the factor of a Precision having a wider neck, if you're used to playing Jazzes. I would certainly have to adjust to one, since I've been playing short scales.

Cool bass, by the way. 8)

The EB-3 has a 1.65" nut. That's in the Precision range, but the neck shape is different. It's a slim taper D shape neck. The radius of the EB-3 is probably a 12", like the Gibson SG Std. is.

It's pretty thin, then?

Pretty much. Very playable.

That's the thing, even with the wider neck, the shape of it also comes into play. The Ibanez basses are like that.

That's a good point to have. Easier to play that way.

It does seem to work out well, especially for finger reaches.

That's where I have issues with Precisions. The finger reaches. I can hit the note, but at times they aren't a clean hit.

I can do it, but if I'm playing the violin bass for a long time, I have to adjust to it, because I was used to that smaller spacing. It's definitely a difference between the two.
